Leslie Spencer

Leslie is a PhD candidate in the Food Systems graduate program at the University of Vermont (UVM), where her research centers on wild pollinator conservation and education on farms. She holds a graduate certificate in Education for Sustainability from UVM (2024) and earned her BS in Biology, with a minor in Food Systems, from Tufts University (2021). Before moving to Vermont, Leslie studied wild pollinators in Costa Rican forests and coffee farms, Minnesota prairies, and the urban wilds of Boston. She is also a Vermont Master Naturalist and serves on the City of Burlington’s Conservation Board. In her free time, you’ll find Leslie gardening and exploring Vermont on a bike or cross-country skis.
